Spreading the word
We are working together for landscape, habitat and biodiversity benefits on a scale that couldn’t be achieved by working alone.
What is becoming apparent is that lots of great work is already being done but the farmers concerned are not getting the message across to the wider public.
Operational Management Plan
Farmers in the Winchester Downs Cluster are working together to achieve landscape, habitat and biodiversity benefits on a scale that could not be done by working alone.
To find out more about the work we are doing, see our operational plan.
Our key areas of work are:
- Arable
- Grassland
- Woodland
- Rivers
- Community
Promoting our iconic wildlife
Part of promoting the farmed environment in the Winchester Cluster involves promoting iconic species that benefit from a healthy farmed environment. As part of this, members were asked what species they would like to focus on. The top three are:
- Lapwing
- Grey partridge
- Barn owl
